Things to Do

Join friends for a live music performance at The Gulley Amphitheater, where you’ll also have art galleries, shops and eateries to keep you entertained. Centrally located at Gulf Place Village, the amphitheater invites you to relax on the lush green lawn during a free concert, toss a Frisbee around or sample delicious food and wine during a culinary soiree. While you’re here, stop into the award-winning Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar for classic coastal cuisine and genuine southern hospitality (there’s live music daily here, too, right in front of the sugar-white, sandy beach).

The beach is just steps away from Gulf Place, with immediate access at Ed Walline. A bit farther east, Gulfview Heights Access offers parking, restrooms, showers, picnic tables with shelter and lifeguards during peak season.

Explore the area’s famous white-sand dunes and rare coastal dune lakes at nearby Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, with three miles of beach. Or, rent a bike at YOLO and explore scenic 30A’s many trails, including the beloved Timpoochee Trail, which runs from Dune Allen Beach to Inlet Beach. It’s 18.5 miles long in total, but you can ride any stretch and be assured of hitting multiple beaches along the way.
