Life in Seacrest Beach

Life in Seacrest Beach

Let's Explore the Community and the Area

Seacrest and Seacrest Beach are communities located in the Florida Panhandle and are located at the eastern end of Highway 30A. It is not far from the area of Destin, to the west, and Panama City to the east. Seacrest stretches roughly 3 miles between Watersound Beach and Rosemary Beach.  In the Seacrest area, you will find more full-time residents than many of the other local beach communities!  There are however vacation rental communities here as well.  Seacrest offers a nice range of real estate styles.   There are plenty of beachfront condominiums,  townhomes, and single-family homes.  and newly constructed vacation homes.

Seacrest beach originally was just a string of neighborhoods and condos but nothing formal or cohesive.  Then a very planned neighborhood was built and it was named Seacrest Beach. It is a very formal HOA with community property and strict CCR’s.  The neighborhood of Seacrest beach is where you see the proper entrance with the big lifeguard stand. This is a quaint planned neighborhood with brick streets lined with tall palm trees and sidewalks. The homes here are two to 4 stories with exterior balconies on each level. This is also the home of one of the largest private lagoon pools in all of Florida. Next to the pool is a large green space for festivals and bands to play and you’ll often see people gathering here.  These homes are very popular vacation rental homes because they can sleep with a large number of people.

Another reason this area is so popular is that it sits in between two of the most exclusive, expensive, and iconic beach towns on 30A. To the west is Alys Beach and to the east is Rosemary beach. Each is a short stroll away open to everyone (not gated) with beautiful homes, great restaurants, and shopping and a super nice hotel in Rosemary called THE PEARL.  Seacrest proper also has Peddlers Pavilion which is the town center for gathering, shops, and dining.

The Seacrest “ area” is not a planned area it just grew up organically over many years. It begins at Camp Creek Lake heading east to Rosemary Beach.  This is the area that I had mentioned is geared more to full-time residents.  There are still a decent amount of vacation homes and condos here, especially in the Seacrest Beach community.

Bikes are by far the best way to explore the area, and there are bike rentals located in the Seacrest town center, it’s easy to hop on a bike and explore.

The “town center” of Seacrest is  The Village of South Walton Beach.  Although small in size, it’s a vibrant area and you will find several shops and restaurants located here.  During the busy tourist season, this area hosts “bonfires and bands”.  You will always find people gathering here just relaxing and meeting with family and friends.
